PosterGarden's First Thursday's Art Show and Gresham Gallery
June 7, 2008
I had a great time, once again, at the PosterGarden where I hang on 1st Thursday's. It is really a great venue with wine, music, gourmet food and great artists like Pam Nichols and her friend Virginia. You can go to Virginia's and Pam's website at: www.razcholsartworks.com
It was great to see some of my work buddies there like Barb Kusik, Midge Marcus and Yvonne Defreitus and her husband. I was able to show my new deer, "Seven Point," there.
Thanks to Gaynor's Automotive I was able to get my truck going again with a new engine...ouch... to take my new piece around. I am now officially a starving artist.
"Seven Point," which I haven't had time to even take a picture of, is now at the Gresham Gallery in the City Council and School Dist. Building (Division and Eastman Parkway off Eastman on the West side of the street). They are having a theme show, "What you would see in a park," and "Seven Point" fits in quite well. There are some great paintings of nature and metal sculpture as well. There will be a reception on June 17th at the gallery which I will attend.

Alberta Art Hop, May 17, 2008
May 12, 2008
This one should be good and a lot of fun. The show runs from 11am to 6 pm with city buses running over everyone if they aren't off the street by 7. My booth will be on the 17th block, North side of the street, slot #12. I will have a brand spanking new piece there. It will be the deer that wasn't finished for the Ridgefield show. This show will have it all, food, music and a ton of art. Stop by and say hi.

Ridgefield Art Show May 10 6-9pm and May 11 10-5pm
May 7, 2008
I showed at my art association's show at Ridgefield, WA. I was hoping to have a new piece done for the show but to no avail. It is another deer done in the fashion of "Atypical." I had a fun couple of days. I would like to thank the out-going president, Kathy Winters, for all her work she has done to make the past shows a success.

PONCHOed
February 24, 2008
Well...I'm on the backside of the PONCHO adventure. It was a fun evening and a great experience. I now have learned what it is all about and will know how to maneuver through it next year if that works out. My piece "The Journey" went up via a U-Haul trailer. I had a friend of mine, Carol Wilmoth, offer a double horse trailer and that was kind and there was just no way I could have made it in the big city of Seattle with it up and back. Going up Spring Street we hit every red light until 4th Ave. With the Carol's trailer we would have ended up in the bay. Carol also offered me a riding lesson on her horse, Jet, which I gladly took and had a chance to connect with her the weekend before PONCHO at the Quarry Ridge Stables. Vern the trainer there was quite kind in letting me hang with him during giving his lesson on the Hunters.
I was quite pleased to open the doors of the U-Haul after our trek and see "The Journey" made it unscathed from the trip up. I appreciate the boys at PONCHO, John and Greg, who helped me to...

January 6, 2008
Firstly, I would like to wish you all a most joyous new year.
I'm sitting in my studio with the dreary sky closing the daylight down early. I will be taking "The Beginning" up to Snohomish this weekend to the Gallery of the Arts Council of Snohomish County for a showing starting January 17 and going until February 28th. Their website is: www.artscouncilofsnoco.org
"The Journey" will be taking a journey up to PONCHO February 23. I'm excited for it's showing, I feel it will show well and I'll be quite curious to see just how much it will go for.
I have a spiritual connection with both pieces and in many ways don't want to release them to the world. I am perfectly content with their company in my studio. And...I want them to go into the world, to carry their energy with them, my soul. With both pieces in the creation process I have been moved to tears. They have captured the very emotion and energy I was hoping to create. I absolutely love,...cherish...covet ...the connection that these pieces make with those who are open to letting in this energy.
I am now excited to begin "Atypical" for the...

'Tis the season...
December 16, 2007
Found out about river living and the excitement when we get 2 inches of rain in one day on top of an already saturated soil. I had a leak in the dike that surrounds my house and garage and have been "creating" sandbags, about 7 truckloads of them. I've got it down to a science doing them by myself. My garage was flooded with about a foot of water. Didn't lose too much.
I'm currently looking forward to begin "Atypical" for the San Juan Island Sculpture Park. I have been bringing the pieces into my studio. I'm thinking about doing somethings differently than what I did with "Alert" and "November's Spike." I'll see once I get started. I'll be heading up to collect some more driftwood over the winter break and I'm looking forward to the Solstice on the 21st.
I'm holding onto my piece "The Journey" until the auction in February. I'm looking forward to the auction and still trying to find a way to transport this piece.
I will again extend my invite to any and all who would like to see "The Journey" before it goes up north. I hope all have a peaceful and joyous time...

First Thursday at PosterGarden
October 5, 2007
I would like to thank Julie Landau for a great show last night for "First Thursday" at the PosterGarden, at 14th and Irving, in the Pearl downtown Portland. I met many great people and other artists like Ben and Todd who had booths close to me. Ben is a photographer and Todd a fellow driftwood collector. He shines them up very nicely and has some with bells.
I continue to create a piece for PONCHO and got a call from the local newspaper where they were wanting to do a blurb about "Thunder..." A little press never hurt.
I'll be going up to the San Juans soon to check out the area for the sculpture garden. They are wanting a theme piece and I'm thinking about deer and "Alert" like pieces. I will get up there and see the area.
Best to all as the sun begins to wane. If you are interested in coming over please let me know through this site. I will be glad to give you a show of my pieces.
